Ageing Strategy

The NSW Ageing Strategy outlines a vision for a healthy, vibrant and active ageing population with the State Government, private sector and wider community coming together to respond to and remove any barriers that prevent older Australians from ageing positively.

One of the highlights of the Government's Ageing Strategy is to implement measures to address the issue of elder abuse which is becoming more prevalent with an ageing population.

One of they key initiatives of the Ageing Strategy was to establish the NSW Elder Abuse Helpline & Resource Unit to help reduce the abuse of older people living in their own homes across NSW.
